In recent
times, the number of Saudi businessmen and delegations visiting
India has grown substantially. As a follow up to visit by Mrs. Vasundhara Raje, MOS (SSI)
in October 2002, a delegation of Saudi entrepreneurs from the Jeddah
Chamber of Commerce and Industry visited India in December, 2002.
Following the visit, the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and the National
Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) signed a ‘Joint Action Plan
(JAP) for Development of SMEs in Jeddah’. The JAP documents were formally
exchanged in presence of Mr. Vinod Khanna, Hon’ble Minister of State for
External Affairs during his visit to Jeddah on September 22, 2003. A team
from Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu visited India from February
1-8, 2003.
A
fourteen-member high level Saudi delegation led by Mr. Saleh E. Al-
Husseini, Deputy Minister for Industrial Affairs, Ministry of Industry and
Electricity visited India on a six-day official visit (April 25–30, 2003).
A 28- member high level Saudi business delegation led by Mr. Abdul Rahman
A Al Jeraisy, Chairman, Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce & Industry (CSCCI),
visited India from 12th to 18th October, 2003.
