Applications are being invited by the Central Council of
Indian Medicine (CCIM) and Central Council of Homoeopathy (CCH)
respectively for admission to Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS),
Bachelor in Unani Medicine & Surgery (BUMS) and Bachelor in
Homoeopathic
Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) courses. Five-and-a-half year Degree Course,
including one year internship is being conducted at the colleges set up
by Central/State Governments and NGOs. The standard of education in
colleges of Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) is being
monitored by CCIM and CCH.
There are four seats available for foreign nationals under
self-financing scheme as per table below. The students nominated under
this scheme will have to bear the expenses on boarding, lodging,
education and other day-to-day requirements from their own sources. The
Central Government will not bear any expenditure on any account on the
education of foreign students.
The following guidelines are required to be followed for
nomination against the above scheme for utilization of seats earmarked
by various colleges for foreign students:
(a) The
applicant should possess minimum qualification prescribed by the Central
Council of Indian Medicine/Central Council of Homoeopathy for admission
to such degree courses;
(b) The
application must be recommended by the Government of the concerned
country to Ministry of External Affairs through Indian
Missions/Embassies in the respective country who in turn may send them
to Department of ISM&H with the endorsement of NOC:
(c) The
nomination should be received in the Department by the end of May every
year. Nomination received after closing date for admission are liable
to be rejected;
(d) The
Central Government in the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy,
Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy will process the proposal for forwarding
their applications to the College (as opted by the foreign students)
after taking clearance from Ministry of External Affairs and Home
Affairs.
