The Indian
Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA)
has recently launched their one year Post Graduate Programme for
Executives (PGPX). The PGPX is a diploma granting programme
equivalent to an MBA of any top management school in the world. The
programme, which is being offered for executives with substantial
experience in the field of management, is expected to address a very
important market need. A significant aspect of the programme is to
attract high quality international management participation for a
truly multi-cultural learning. Details of the programme are

The first programme will be from April 2006 for which applications
will be available on-line on the IMMA’s above website. The admission
process will take place between July-September 2005. Entry
requirements are (i) a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, (ii) age of
27 by the start of the programme, and (iii) GMAT score. -
Applications are being invited by the Central
Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and Central Council of
Homoeopathy (CCH) respectively for admission to Bachelor in

Scholarship
Scheme for Diaspora Children (SPDC)
It has been decided to set up a Scholarship Scheme
for the children of PIOs/NRIs from countries where there is a sizeable
PIO/NRI population and less opportunities for higher education for the
children of overseas Indians. Under this Scheme, 100
admission-cum-scholarships shall be offered for Undergraduate courses in
Engineering/Technology, Humanities/Liberal Arts, Commerce, Management,
Journalism, Hotel Management, Agriculture/Animal Husbandry to partially
fund the tuition fees, particularly for the technical courses. The
scholarships will be offered on merit on the basis of entrance tests
conducted. M/s Educational Consultants India Limited has been engaged by
MOIA the task of implementing the scheme starting from the academic year
