Labour Disputes

If any Indian national faces any dispute with his sponsor regarding non-payment of wages, leave, end-of-service benefits, etc., they can contact the Community Welfare Wing to sort out their problems. The officials of the Community Welfare Wing try to sort out their problems by correspondence and through discussions with the sponsor for an amicable settlement. If no agreement or settlement is reached through discussions with sponsor, the matter is taken up through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Even after that, if the matter remains unresolved, the Indian nationals have to file the case with the Labour Court concerned. Community Welfare Wing provides free Interpreter service for cases at Riyadh Labour Court, subject to availability of personnel and the request being made well in advance. It is always good for all Indian nationals to keep copies of their contract, passport and iqama with them and also with their family in India to safeguard their interest.

Indian Workers Welfare Fund (IWWF)

The Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah have established an Indian Workers Welfare Fund (IWWF) to provide relief and assistance to needy Indian workers, including repatriation to India, and ex-gratia relief to destitute families of the workers in exceptional case.
