As part of the 68th Republic Day of India celebrations, the Embassy of India, Riyadh, in association of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi, will be organizing a Mehfil-e-Qawwali on February 01 at Jubail, February 02 at Dammam and February 03, 2017 at Riyadh. A renowned group of Qawwals led by Noushad Sabri will be enthralling the audience at the International Indian Schools (boys section) in Jubail, Dammam and Riyadh.
The Mehfil-e-Qawwali is presented to the audience as part of the promotion of Indian cultural traditions. Those interested in attending the program are requested to approach the respective schools in the cities of their residence for collecting the “Free” Entry Pass. Participation in the events is restricted to Indian nationals only. Infants and children below 10 years are not allowed.

Conversion of PIO Cards into OCI Cards - Last Date Extended till 30 June 2017
The Government of India has extended the last date for submission of application for registration as OCI cardholder in lieu of the existing PIO cards till 30 June 2017. This service is provided free of charge, if availed on or before the last date. Eligible applicants may like to avail of the service before the prescribed deadline i.e. 30 June 2017.

The Central Board of Excise & Customs has recently released a multi-lingual mobile Apps "Indian Customs - Guide to Travellers" to facilitate international passengers about Baggage Rules. Apart from the English version, this app is available in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada.
2(i) The app, a first-of-its-kind mobile application, contains a ready reckoner of the customs baggage rules and entitlement of passengers coming from various countries.
(ii) It contains 24X7 contact details of customs officers of major Airports.
(iii) The application provides information to users as per their need.
(iv) After installation of app on smart phones, it works in offline mode.
(v) The said app is available on all the three platforms - Android Play Store, Windows & Apple Store, and
(vi) It serves as a Ready Reckoner of Customs Baggage Rules and Passenger Entitlements.
3. Users can download the updated version of the mobile app which is available across the three platforms. These details are also available on website (www.cbec.gov.in).
4. The multi-lingual capability of the app will be of immense benefit to the international passengers, especially those travelling from the Gulf countries.
